The Information Office of Guizhou Provincial People's Government held a press conference on the development of "Electric Guizhou" on Dec 6. At the conference, Guo Dan, deputy director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guizhou Province, outlined the key actions that will be taken to achieve the goals set by the "Electric Guizhou" policy.
First, the province will drive industrial growth. Guizhou will fully support Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in creating new energy vehicle (NEV) industry clusters by focusing on vehicle manufacturers and coordinating the development of key component supply chains. A dedicated provincial automotive industry task force will regularly visit major enterprises to assess their production and operational needs and assist with problem-solving. Additionally, efforts will be made to strengthen the connection between vehicle production and sales, with the goal of achieving significant breakthroughs in market expansion.
Second, Guizhou will promote application and use. In line with the "Electric Guizhou" policy target of reaching 700,000 NEVs by 2026, the province will work with relevant departments and local governments to implement a dual approach – focusing on both the public sector and individual users – to promote the use of NEVs.
Third, Guizhou will lead with demonstration projects. The province will encourage vehicle manufacturers to collaborate with transportation companies, grid operators, and charging infrastructure companies to innovate cooperation models. The aim is to establish demonstration scenarios, such as pilot mines, industrial parks and routes, to enhance the influence of "Electric Guizhou".
Lastly, Guizhou will publicize and guide the implementation of the "Electric Guizhou" policy. With its rich set of policies, local governments and relevant units will continue to promote the policy, ensuring it reaches grassroots organizations, industrial parks and enterprises, and ensuring that all tasks are implemented thoroughly.
