Guiyang tourism booms during Spring Festival holiday

According to Ctrip, a Chinese online travel agency, during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb 10 to 17, tourism-related orders in Guiyang increased by 105 percent compared to the previous year, and the sale of tickets to scenic spots multiplied by nearly six times.

The top five popular attractions in Guiyang during this period were the Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair, Huaxi Yelang Valley, Qingyan Ancient Town, Tianhetan Scenic Area, and Guizhou Wildlife Park.

In Guizhou as a whole, tourism increased by 87 percent compared to the previous year, and ticket sales to scenic areas saw a 134-percent increase.

Guizhou's top five popular attractions were Zhijin Cave, Duyun Qin and Han Studio City, Fanjing Mountain, the Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair, and Libo Xiaoqikong Scenic Area.

Statistics showed that the top five tourist sources for Guizhou were Chengdu, Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The top five preferred destinations for tourists from Guizhou were Chongqing, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Nanning.

Moreover, renting cars for self-driving tours became a trend, with over half of tourists nationwide choosing to self-drive for short to medium-distance road trips. Guiyang, along with Xi'an, Hangzhou, Jieyang, Chaozhou, Guilin, Fuzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, and Changchun, emerged as the top 10 dark horse destinations for domestic self-driving tours during this year's Spring Festival holiday.
