A delegation of 16 central and provincial media outlets visited the Huawei Cloud Data Center and Guiyang Big Data Sci-Tech City in Guian New Area on Oct 24.

They were impressed by the big data industry that has been rapidly developing in Guiyang City and Guian New Area, empowering the "strong provincial capital" initiative.

"Guizhou has made significant achievements and has a lot of potential in big data development," said He Yuche, a journalist from the People's Daily, who didn't know much about Guizhou's big data industry before, but realized during the visit that Guizhou has a natural geographical advantage for the development of a big data industry with its mountainous terrain and an average annual temperature of 15 C.

"Throughout the visit, we could clearly see that Guizhou attaches great importance to the development of the big data industry," said Yue Jiayi, an editor from Guangming Daily.

"During our visit to Guiyang and Guian, we specifically learned about the series of supports provided by Guizhou, including policies, funding, infrastructure, and talent development. I can see that Guizhou is utilizing the power of digital technology to increase productivity," Yue added.

Huawei Cloud's global headquarters are located in Guian and the company has built the world's largest data center there. This center is an important node for Huawei's cloud business and will be able to accommodate 1 million servers in the future.

Huawei Cloud's Guian Data Center is now in commercial operation, providing diversified services for the digital transformation of governments and enterprises, as well as various scenarios, such as enterprise cloud migration, big data processing, cloud storage, cloud backup, and cloud rendering.

In the future, it will also fully support Guizhou's digital economy strategy, including co-building a cloud for government affairs across the province, helping different industry sectors move to the cloud, and establishing a digital economy innovation center, which will help Guizhou make its cloud and big data industry more attractive.
