Officials from the Guiyang housing provident fund management center introduced a new way to pay deposits for the housing provident fund in a recent news conference in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

There are six new commercial banks authorized to issue housing provident fund loans by the center, bringing the total number of the authorized banks to 15. These banks offer 37 special sites to handle housing provident fund affairs, and enterprises and individuals can choose the site closest to them or to pay their deposits at banks, e-banks, or the online service hall.

The conference also elaborated on the center's other measures to streamline procedures and simplify services, including revising a document to increase conditions in which firms' contribution rate to the housing provident fund can be lowered and to add more circumstances under which firms' deposits to the fund can be postponed.

In addition, an online housing provident fund business is now available in Guiyang.

By the end of June, about 88.11 percent of enterprises had done business through the online service hall.
